Position size is calculated, not guessed. Decide your stop from the chart first, then size the trade.

  • Size = risk amount ÷ (stop distance in pips × pip value per lot).
  • On EUR/USD with a USD account, 1 lot = 100,000 units, so a pip is $10 per lot, $1 per 0.10 and $0.10 per 0.01.
  • $10 risk with a 20-pip stop → 0.05 lot; with a 50-pip stop → 0.02 lot.
  • Round down. Gold, indices and other pairs have different pip values — use the lot calculator on the Souq Daily site.
