The BLS Employment Situation report comes out monthly, usually on a Friday at 8:30 a.m. New York time.

  • Nonfarm payrolls come from the establishment survey (about 119,000 businesses and agencies, ~622,000 worksites); the unemployment rate from the household survey (~60,000 households); the report also includes average hourly earnings.
