Most people trade four main asset families, each with its own speed, driver and risk.

  • Currencies (forex): a currency against a currency; small daily moves, amplified by leverage; driven by central banks.

  • Stocks: a share of a real company, driven by earnings and news; traded in exchange hours; CFDs let you trade price without owning the share.
  • Crypto: very volatile, trades 24/7.
