Trendlines and channels

Educational content, not investment advice. Nour explains how markets work. She never tells you what to buy or sell.
In a trend the floor itself moves, so we use sloping lines.
- An uptrend line connects at least two rising lows; a downtrend line connects falling highs. Extend it forward to see where the floor may be.
- Two points draw a line; many analysts trust it more after a third touch.
- A parallel line through the highs creates a channel — MetaTrader 5 describes its equidistant channel as two parallel trendlines.
- A horizontal channel is a rectangle; converging lines form a triangle.
- A clear break is an early warning, not a certainty. Never force a line to fit.
