MetaTrader 5 looks busy, but it has five main parts: Market Watch (prices), Navigator (accounts and indicators), Toolbox (positions and history), the charts, and the Data Window.

  • Open a demo account from File → Open an Account; all operations use virtual money.
  • Open a chart from Market Watch (right-click → Chart Window) or File → New Chart; choose bars, candlesticks or line, and one of 21 timeframes.
  • MT5 has 38 built-in indicators: drag one from Navigator onto the chart.
  • Keep charts clean and save your setup as a template.
